Glenda Watt – Chair
Glenda was appointed as the Chairperson of ACE IT’s Board of Directors in June 2016. She is a registered social worker and was a registered general and psychiatric nurse. As a senior official with the City of Edinburgh Council she dealt with policy and strategy relating to older people and was responsible for establishing the Scottish Older People’s Assembly (SOPA) as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated.
Margaret was recently appointed to the ACE IT Board after being a member of the Silver Surfers for many years and was one of the original founder members. Margaret has lived most of her life in Edinburgh and worked as a Private Secretary for various companies. These ranged from a Law Office, a Construction Company, Food Companies and a local Government Office.
John started using IT many years ago whilst working in financial services. He then found that it quickly became a part of everyday living. He became an ACT IT volunteer tutor in April 2014 and joined the Board in 2017. John likes to get hands-on with IT so as to get the best out of it – both for himself and also for those he meets whilst working as a tutor at ACE IT.
Colin spent 50 years in the IT industry, for the last 30 years of that he was a Management Consultant advising businesses and charities across the UK and abroad. He was also a youth leader, leading a team of volunteers to help young people on challenging themselves and providing training experiences in the UK and abroad. Since retiring, Colin has been a volunteer with ACE IT and another charity helping older people with IT issues, and his experience across these areas mean he has much to contribute to the Board.
Graham has worked in the IT industry and in jobs associated with IT since 1970. He spent long career in retail systems before moving into further education, prisons and finally school. Graham retired to Edinburgh last year. He is fascinated by technology and has spent a lot time supporting and teaching people to realise the benefits of IT.
